CARLOS H. REYES
Carlos H. Reyes was born in Honduras into a large and fervently religious family. His childhood and adolescence was marked by his grandmother, who instilled in him a love for literature, religion and humanity. At the age of 16, he moved to Spain, where he completed his secondary education. He stood on the threshold of his future and saw an enormous question mark. Then Carlos came upon the literature, philosophy and poetry of Walt Whitman in which he found a new way of looking at life. This inspired him to study experimental and avant-garde theatre, particularly those styles where movement, rather than the spoken word, is emphasised.
During his studies, he discovered oriental dances like Kathakali, which seem to possess the ability of inducing altered states, trance states. It is then that Carlos decided to become a dancer. He is currently studying contemporary dance, which he combines with classical dance and different Asian styles in his performances.
